Bisamberg substation
The Bisamberg substation is an important component for the secure supply of electricity in the region as well as the integration and distribution of renewable energy in the APG grid. With the renewal of the existing 110-kV switching station and the construction of a 220/110-kV transformer, it will be equipped for the requirements of the electricity future.
Refurbishment of an existing 110-kV switching station and construction of a 220/110-kV RHU4 transformer (220 MVA)
The Bisamberg substation plays an essential role in ensuring a secure power supply in the region. It is an important grid support for the 110-kV distribution grid operators of Netz Niederösterreich GmbH and Wiener Netze GmbH. In addition, it is also a central component for the success of the energy transition, as it enables the integration and distribution of renewable energies, especially wind power from the Weinviertel, into APG's power grid.
The 110-kV switching station at the Bisamberg substation was built in 1948. Due to its old age, the condition of the equipment and increasing demands as regards operation of the transmission grid, the existing 110-kV switching station will have to be refurbished and converted to meet rising demand. The existing 10-kV indoor switching station will also be refurbished in this context.
Furthermore, it will be absolutely necessary to build a fourth 220/110-kV RHU4 transformer (220 MVA) in order to ensure security of supply and prevent disruptions during n-1 operation with respect to the 110-kV transmission grids of Netz Niederösterreich GmbH and Wiener Netze GmbH, which are fed separately from the Bisamberg substation.
